Transportation Manager
Reporting to the Director of Supply Chain for a specialty retailer with annual revenue over $1.2 billion. Responsible for managing $26 million in corporate transportation in a primarily small package environment. Works directly with the carriers and third party auditing service to ensure the effective monitoring of freight expense and performance. Accountable for ensuring compliance to corporate guidelines for the correct shipment of over 2.5 million parcels in support of store, repair shop and vendor shipments. Challenge is to consistently review freight practices and recommend and implement strategic changes that continue to increase service levels and reduce costs.
Background Required:
• Transportation management (small package)(5 years)
• Freight bill audit
• Transportation spend
• Carrier service performance monitoring
• Negotiating Rates (outbound / inbound)
• Customer service / problem resolution
• Familiar with TMS (i.e. Manugistics, i2, Manhattan)
• Computer literate: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Outlook
• Location: OH (no relocation assistance)
