RE: Technical Support - Distributed Infrastructure Team

GROUP:  Infrastructure Engineering -Distributed Systems

 

This position will be responsible for working in a technical team environment supporting and certifying Point of Sale (POS) hardware, as well as additional store devices. This position will work closely with the POS team to evaluate new hardware and support the existing devices in the field including: hand scanners, scanner scales, self Checkout Ipad, pin pads, etc.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

· Participate and contribute as a technical resource on the Distributed Infrastructure technical team.

· Participate in 3rd level support pager rotation.

· Work as a team participant or individual contributor technical role.

· Participate in future store architecture design.

· Participate in test and development lab coordination.

· Interact with business management and application systems teams to evaluate requirements and determine the best solution to support enterprise applications.

·  Ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule, budget and quality constraints.

 

Job Requirements:

 

· Experience with POS equipment preferred but not a requirement.

· Strong organizational and teamwork skills.

· Strong technical skills in scanner technology and peripheral device management.

· Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

· Good communication skills.

· Ability to coordinate across multiple teams.

· TCP/IP experience.

· Strong documentation skills.

· Working knowledge of hardware evaluation best practices.

· Knowledge of point of sale solutions is a plus.
