Position involves operational support on day to day perspective as well as support project work that involves working with Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, Routing Protocol, SOX and PCI Compliance audits. Knowledge and hands on experience with design, configuration, implementation and operational support of firewalls and content- filtering.QualificationsDay to Day support activities for the Sears Data network. This includes being involved with service restoration teams representing the Data Network team and resolving business impacting network issues. Working with Firewalls, Routers and Switches and troubleshooting routing issues. Involved in Moves add or changes to the existing environment that may involved firewall changes, router updates, VPN adds or changes.Hands on experience with Checkpoint Firewalls, Cisco ASA and Cisco PIX firewalls which includes design, implementation and on going support. WAN experience consisting of MPLS, Frame Relay Point to Point and VPN technologies, including knowledge of Serial Protocols, web filtering, switch and router troubleshooting and routing Protocols including BGP, RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, TCP/IP. Must be CCNA Certified - Cisco Certified Network Associate One or more of the following certificates strong desired: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator (CCSE)Firewall: Hands on PIX Firewalls, FWSM, Cisco Concentrators and Checkpoint Ability to act as a data network representative and work with multiple business and IT groups within Projects from the Design to Operational Support stage. Develops tools and procedures such as accumulation programs to gather like data to support development. Interfaces with personnel internal and external to department to support and implement existing production systems or business solutions. Acts as the subject matter expert in assisting development work teams or designing systems documentation.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration,specialized computer systems training, or equivalent. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of five years experience in Information Technology with extensive knowledge and hands on support in a LAN/WAN/VPN network environment. Ability to troubleshoot and perform data network support tasks with a complex network environment working effectively with multiple support and business groups. Good knowledge of system analysis, logic diagramming, test debugging, system software, hardware computer operations and documentation standards. Strong oral and written communication, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical ability.Minimum of 5 years experience in current technology environments and hands on supporting LAN/WAN/VPN network environment, Firewalls, Content Engines, Wireless Networking; Switch Configurations, Internet Services, Must be CCNA Certified - Cisco Certified Network Associate Knowledge and troubleshooting skills that pertain to the following: Routing Protocols: RIP, OSPF, EIGRP and BGP MPLS Networks Cisco Router and Switch: 2600, 3800, 6500 Native IOS, CATOS. Firewall: Hands on PIX Firewalls, FWSM, Cisco Concentrators Ability to troubleshoot DNS issues, Proxy Issues, FTP and TCP/IP Routing Issues Monitoring Tools: Cisco Works, What's UP Gold, MRTG, Sniffing tools, OPNET, Infinistream, Ethereal Configuration, test and implementation of the following common types of networking equipment: switches; routers; wireless access points and controllers; CSU/DSUs. Experience with command line (CLI) and GUI configuration of Cisco IOS devices is preferred.
