TRANSPORTATION MANAGER - CARRIER ADMINISTRATION Manage the rates, contracts and performance of TRU domestic inbound carrier base and non-fleet carriers for store delivery.  The scope of this position involves over 30 carriers, five transportation modes and freight expenditures of over $130 million per year.   1) Manage Carrier day-to-day relationship focusing on rate negotiations of lane specific rates and carrier performance.   2) Develop and analyze operational reviews to highlight operational deficiencies and implement corrective action plans. Development and analysis of monthly cost reports.   3) Analysis of carrier performance, development of carrier KPI reports and performance improvement plans as required.   4) Management of multiple transportation mode bid programs. (Truck Load, IMC, LTL)  and contracts.   5) Lead and develop two transportation analyst   6) Development of transportation network strategies utilizing software solutions such as Manugistics, CAPS BidPro, Access databases.   7) Overall responsibility to ensure TMS ( Manugistics ) is operating efficiently.    8) Operational and financial review projects as assigned.   Four to seven years experience in transportation/logistics with heavy exposure to carrier relations and negotiations in all modes.  Bachelor degree, preferably in logistics/operations.  Demonstrated ability to lead, develop others. Strong financial management and computer skills (Excel, Access, Word and mainframe systems).  Must be skillful in negotiating rates with transportation providers with a focus on service and cost.  Excellent communication skills with strong analytical aptitude a must.  Self motivated team player that can excel with limited supervision.  Ability to develop partnerships with internal/external providers/customers.  Exposure to TMS packages (i.e. Manugistics, I2, etc.) and Bid Optimization software a plus.
