Store Manager in Training - Topeka
Kansas Sampler, a regional chain of men's, women's and children's sportwear and gift stores (retail) seeks enthusiastic and willing candidate to enter training program targeted toward eventual store management. Candidates can be hired into the company as a 'manager in training' or as an assistant manager, depending upon experience and educational achievements.
Employee's duties and responsibilites will be added as the course of training advances and procedures are learned and proficiency is demonstrated. Initial training will be in the company's sales procedures which are intended to ensure that each customer is helped according to his/her need and desires. Subsequently, training in operational tasks such as restocking, merchandising, intercompany transfers, maintenance, and opening/closing will be conducted. Once basic procedures are learned, training in company requirements for candidate as sales and operations manager will be conducted. Upon demonstrating proficiency in sales and opertions management, candidate may be assigned responsibility for all store activities and supervision of up to twenty full and part time employees. Progress is based on candidates proficiency and career interest.
Initial responsibility can be as a manager in training candidate, which pays $14.00 per hour, or assistant manager which pays $15.50 per hour. All store 'in-charge' managers must be hired into the company at one of these positions.
Compensation is paid for all overtime worked.
Benefits include Coventry health insurance, company tax free contributions to Simple IRA plan, two weeks paid vacation after one year of service, holiday, sick pay, and bonus programs. Educational assistance for continuing education is available.
