Purpose: Target is creating a new business unit to own the Target Interactive and Multichannel Experience.The Interactive & Multichannel Experience Team is responsible for the vision, strategy, innovation, evolution and execution of various functionalities/experiences across Target's digital channels. It encompasses three teams: Product Development (new), Project Management and Channel Development (new).Target is seeking a versatile Sr Manager, Product Development to build the new Product Development team. This role will serve as the business owner for creating, institutionalizing and delivering a multiyear strategic vision and supporting capability roadmap for the Target multi-channel interactive experience with the goal to optimize value to our guests and business units. This role will also manage a team of Product Managers responsible for inventing and evolving interactive tools/capabilities to maximize online, in-store and mobile conversion targeting the Target multichannel guest. See Yourself: Strategic Management: Lead setting of holistic vision, strategy and ongoing 5 year rolling roadmap development for all guest facing features/functions across all Target digital channels: online, mobile, in-store devices Responsible for developing and overseeing multi-year cross-company program/project deliverables and implementation strategy in support of business objectives Manage governance process for new ideas against interactive mutichannel vision/roadmap Innovation of product/features/processes Spearhead cross-channel integration and capability development where applicable Craft business proposals and P&L documents to support product strategy Sell new product ideas to cross-company P&L owners; articulates how products fit into the bigger picture and build upon each other to achieve certain business benefits Maneuvers quickly between big-picture strategic issues, understanding linkages and ability to delve into technical detail as needed Drive communication and collaboration across the company, key partners and business project managers to identify, draw out and prioritize ideas and issues which manifest into new initiatives or enhancements to existing products Contribute engaging and innovative ideas/concepts for development Acquire subject matter expertise cross-company (Target specific and Industry knowledge) Creates presentations and leads sr. executive level meetings and debates Product Development Lifecycle Management : Creates and leads a cyclical development cycle and ensures product management deliverables are met for each stage Develops business case, including financial impact, for each product line roadmap Conduct feasibility analysis for online/web/in-store product development opportunities including the gathering of competitive intelligence, market potential, analytic/measurement data, guest feedback analysis; evaluate opportunities and the delivery of strategic recommendations for future conversion focused product development. Create and manage plans for specific multichannel products incorporating input from guests and internal stakeholders. Translate guest and market needs data into project requirements designed to enhance the user experience and drive conversion Manage activities related to understanding guest needs through coordination and organization of site/ consumer testing, usability, and heuristics reviews. Stay current with market research, competitive sites, and new trends in web, mobile and in-store device design and technology. Serve as functional product owner to create and manage plans for small to large-scale conversion-focused web-based projects from inception to completion (e.g., creative brainstorm, scope development, QA, review, continuous improvement, etc.) Drives resolution as escalation decision point for major program/project issues. Runs or participates in various program management or steering committee meetings as appropriate. Works and communicates across corporation to identify and assess impact of products on partner teams which may affect organization, process or financials Team Management : Recruits, develops and retains a high performing, client service oriented team Leads a team that jointly sets priorities and goals with cross company partners to ensure business goals are being met. Provides leadership, coaching, motivation and assistance to team members to ensure teamwork, professional and career development and high performance. Manages overall department budget Develops and administers performance appraisals, wage and promotion actions as well as counseling, corrective action and termination when needed. Identifies and develops high performing team members Manages 2-7 product/program managersJob Requirements:Minimum Requirements: College degree or equivalent work experience required; four-year college degree preferred Strong cognitive skills- including strategic planning, business case development, problem solving, decision making and analysis Innovative and able to think outside the box Strong presentation skills and ability to interact effectively with strong personalities Strong leadership skills including interpersonal, communications,. negotiations Ability to drive and lead others through change and develop organization and process in support of changes Conflict management skills Knowledge of user interface design principles, web design best practices and a strong visual design sensibility.
