Software Development Engineer, Community team in Retail Customer Experience The Amazon Customer Community is comprised of millions of people collaborating to create the most authoritative source of product information on the web. As a member of the Community Team, you'll be building features which allow those millions of people to interact and let us harness the wisdom of crowds to enable customers to make buying decisions. Customer reviews, discussion boards, image uploads, tags and guides - pretty much anywhere on Amazon.com that one person can enter information for someone else's benefit, they are using software the Community Team wrote. We expect the candidate can design for Amazon’s scale and write long-lived, maintainable code. The candidate is self-directed, capable of working effectively in a dynamic environment and has strong experience in back-end service oriented architecture. Bachelors in Computer Science and three to five years software development experience or equivalent At least 1 year experience designing high-performance, scalable architectures At least 2 years of experience with writing production quality code in Java and C++.Experience in the following a plus: Unix/Linux experience Object-Oriented analysis and design SQL / Oracle / Data modeling and design
