Senior Systems Administrator

Department / Location: Information Technology / Corporate Office Reports To: Manager of Database AdministrationWork in a team to install, monitor and maintain corporate information storage solutions in support of Unix, Linux, iSeries and Windows server infrastructure. Oversee SAN connectivity and also design and manage a comprehensive tape and media management backup system. Duties: Allocate storage to host systems. Perform zoning, masking, LUN creation and data volume migration tasks, experience with IBM SVC Monitor and report on resource consumption and performance Administer and maintain multiple fabric Storage Area Network (SAN), NAS and other disk and tape storage devices Design and implement local replication solutions within storage devices using vendor software such as FlashCopy, Timefinder, SnapView Perform software configuration, troubleshooting, and upgrades as needed Configure and utilize SAN and NAS adminstration software Understand HBA configuration in Windows and Unix environments Design, administer, and maintain enterprise backup software Oversee and improve process and procedures for tape vaulting Create growth projections and capacity planning for the Storage and SAN infrastructures Implement change controls on systems Create project plans, status reports, and attend staff meetings Working in concert with the System Administrators, discuss, plan, and coordinate activities related to upgrades and other maintenance on the systems Participate in the evaluations of hardware and software; participate in vendor selection meetings and conferences Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing Any other essential function that may occur from time to time at the request of the supervisor Successful Candidate Requirements: Large scale storage environments, preferable EMC DMX, Symmetrix, Clariion, Celerra, Centerra and/or IBM N-Series and DS Series Cisco SAN Directors Enterprise class Backup Enterprise class Tape Library Unit, preferably IBM and/or ADIC Self-starter with the ability to make informed decisions Process and procedure oriented Good communications skills with the ability to work with IT and business users Good project management skillsExperience: At least 3 years experience in large enterprise Storage Administration position dealing with large and medium sized servers, SANs and automated backup systemsMinimum Education: Undergraduate degree in an IT discipline or equivalent experience required Dick's Sporting Goods, Inc. is an authentic full-line sporting goods retailer offering a broad assortment of brand name sporting goods equipment, apparel, and footwear in a specialty store environment.
