We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform pre-employment substance abuse testing.Objective Provide customers with the highest level of customer service in regard to technical services such as maintenance, repairs, ski and bike tunes, ski mounts, and any other technical service requested by the customer on equipment. Identify specific service requests from customer and ensure that product is properly and safely completed to the customers’ satisfaction. Protect company liability in regard to services performed. Train technicians at other store locations within a district. Primary Job Functions Customer Service and Sales • Provide customers with highest level of customer service, emphasizing courteous and knowledgeable assistance to each and every customer. • Ensure the customer is educated and fully aware of all services they have requested. Suggest the appropriate services to customers. • Review and post advertisements and promotions daily; this may include service or rental specials. • Be familiar with current service pricing, rental information and pricing and any additional merchandise pricing applicable for the shop. • Address any asset protection and safety issues that may occur in the shop in a manner that there is neither a loss to the company, nor an uncontrollable situation with a customer or associate. • Communicate any information pertaining to the shop or any missed opportunities for sales or when help is needed. Shop Responsibilities • Travel to other store locations to train Associate, Sr. Associate and Lead Technicians. • Ensure stores are prepared for technical shop paperwork audits. • Ensure all necessary tools and supplies are kept in stock and safely locked in the shop. Request any current ski/bike manuals or paperwork that may be out dated. • Required to operate and maintain ski and snowboard grinding machinery, bowling ball drill machine, skate sharpening machine, linewinding machine, air compressor, tennis stringing machine, CO2 Fill station, bench grinder, standard drills and hand tools. • Maintain and implement all safety methods in the shop. Document and follow all Sports Service maintenance information on shop equipment. Follow and implement all safety procedures in the operation of shop equipment. Practice good housekeeping methods and overall cleanliness. • Ensure all service paperwork is completed and filed according to Policy & Procedures (P&P’s). • Inform Sports Services of any certifications that may be required to obtain. Ensure that all shop and service personnel stay current with certifications. • Attend to miscellaneous duties including; shop coverage, store meetings posted, clinic schedules, and training sessions. • Ensure all events are posted and attended, any surveys are completed and returned in a timely manner. • Responsible for other duties as assigned or developed. Reporting Structure • The Sr. Market Technician will report directly to the District Manager. Prerequisite Skills/Experience • Certified in rental binding (Marker and Salomon) manufactures up to all binding manufactures, and bike assembly certified. • Excellent communication skills. • Ability to work well under pressure. • Ability to interact enthusiastically. • Understand and facilitate Policy & Procedures. • Technical and mechanical knowledge of both ski and bike industry. • Prior retail experience and knowledge of the sports for which these products are utilized.Retail,Sales,Supervisor,TechnicianAdditional Information: Travel Percentage: 10% Learn more about Sports Authority | View all Sports Authority Career Opportunities |
