The Senior HR Business Partner will provide strategic human resource consulting to management and contributes to and supports organizational objectives, as well as identify, respond to, and manage the HR needs within our corporate office and distribution center.  This position will serve as the primary point of contact and adviser for managers and employees throughout the Distribution Center on general HR matters, including but not limited to: policy interpretation, performance improvement, workers’ compensation and related safety issues, wage and hour issues, management and employment practices, and conflict resolution.  The position also involves HR support for the corporate office.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 Guiding management in the correct and consistent application of Company policy and use of preferred management practices; problem solving and consensus building.Investigating and responding to complaints made by Finish Line employees (i.e. harassment, sexual harassment, discrimination, retaliation, etc.).Orienting associates to the general policies, procedures, and benefits of the Finish Line distribution center. Training staff on the interpretation and implementation of Finish Line programs and policies as well as state/federal law. Also assist management in the development and execution of good/preferred management practices.Responding to outside legal matters (EEOC, Unemployment, Civil Rights, etc.) involving the Finish Line distribution center.Coordinating DC compliance with Workers’ Comp policies/laws. Clearly and accurately translate information from English to Spanish for the Distribution Center’s Latino workforce.

 

Qualifications

 Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of HR generalist and/or management experience. PHR certification required; SPHR preferred.Proficiency in Spanish is strongly preferred.Extensive experience writing/researching.  Must also possess public presentation/teaching skills.  Ability to make recommendations to effectively solve problems, using judgment consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and/or government law.Excellent employee relations and coaching skills with the ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex and emotional issues.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills; excellent skills with delivering training presentations is key.Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
