Senior Financial Analyst

The Sr. Financial Analyst is a key contributor to the integrity, analysis, and reporting of retail store operations. This position reports directly to the Manager of Retail Finance & Compliance and provides support to Division Management and Corporate Finance.   PRINCIPLE ACTIVITIES/OBJECTIVES Responsible for preparing and publishing retail chain/concept reports on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end basis.  Areas of reporting include sales, payroll, store operating and overhead expenses. Complete General Ledger Account Reconciliations and/or System Reconciliations in each of these areas. Analyze accounts for accuracy and variances to budget, forecast, and LY. Determine any necessary expense accruals and follow up on outstanding closing items.  Understand the meaning behind journal entries and effect on the P&L and Balance Sheet. Review and approve T&E reports. Provide overall accounting and financial support to the Division and Corporate Management.  Perform various projects and ad-hoc analyses.REQUIREMENTS BS in Accounting or Finance. 3 + years of accounting analysis experience. (Retail experiences a plus). Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Ability to compare variances and analyze reports & GL accounts. Possess a strong attention to detail. Work effectively both in a team environment and independently.  Analyze and assess each situation with determination and the willingness to find a solution.  Independently manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish and build positive working relationships with associates throughout the Corporation.  Must be customer-focused, accurate, detailed-oriented and analytical.  Knowledge of Lawson General Ledger and Crystal Reporting a plus.ACCOUNTABILITYThe Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the preparation of financial data to be input into the General Ledger and the presentation of all financial reports to the Division and to corporate management.  This is a highly visible role, and the individual must feel comfortable interacting with senior management.  He/She must complete all account analysis and correct any issues in a timely manner.  He/She will be held accountable for work that is assigned on a project basis.
