Senior Accountant

Overview:

This position will act as team leader in providing accounting support to corporate cost centers. They will interact with senior and executive management responsible for corporate support costs to ensure that expenses are recorded appropriately. Overall responsibility is to ensure that support cost expenses incurred by the certain corporate cost centers are recorded in a timely and accurate manner. Responsibilities: • Manage overall monthly financial close process for assigned corporate cost centers which includes preparing and posting journal entries as needed• Analyze and prepare monthly financial reports for Corporate Support Cost centers, including trend, actual vs. budget, and actual vs. forecast analysis.• Analysis includes providing written and oral explanations of material variances to prior year, forecast, and budget. • Research and respond to inquiries for accounting information from department managers• Disseminate financial information to senior management• Reconcile and prepare explanations for assigned balance sheet accounts• Provide accounting guidance to senior management to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP• Provide guidance or direction to staff accountant as needed Qualifications: • 5 - 7 years work experience in accounting

• Bachelor's degree in Business - Accounting

• CPA preferred

• PeopleSoft experience is preferred• Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and Outlook experience required • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Time management skills• Strong team player
