SECOND ASSISTANT MANAGER - GROCERY

The Second Assistant Manager provides optimum customer satisfaction through the effective management and leadership of store operations.  Establishes systems, processes and procedures to accomplish the required expectations of the store and of the company.  This is to be accomplished in accordance with Kroger’s policy on business ethics; through consistent and honest dealings with employees, vendors, customers and outside parties.

 

JOB DUTIES

Include but are not limited to the following:

1. Responsible for one’s own safety and for those with whom you work

2. May be assigned to various departments throughout the store as needed.

3. Achievement of planned weekly and quarterly sales growth as well as gross profit, labor and shrink control.

4. Achievement of an atmosphere where the customer is first, enhancing our reputation for friendliness, approachability, creativity, flexibility, and salesmanship.

5. Achievement of effective coordination of production, merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, communication, goal setting, brainstorming and teamwork.

6. Achievement of trained personnel who receive continual skills development and cross-training that guarantees career growth and adequate numbers of promotable personnel who meet or exceed expectations to fill key positions and/or future assignments.

7. Achievement of optimum profitability through exciting and realistic merchandising, sufficient quantity, superior quality, and variety.

8. Achievement of a safe and clean working environment for personnel through safety awareness and training, well maintained equipment, and sanitation conditions that exceed government standards.

9. Familiar with ELM’s and Supersked, Fuel Center operations, Scheduling, Key Retailing, and Unacceptable Job Performance guidelines.

10.  Working knowledge of Space Management, CAO, and Receiving Procedures preferred.

11.  Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned

12.  Must be 21 years of age

 

Note:  This is a zero-status store and an employee's number of scheduled hours is based on business needs.
