We're building dominant and compelling assortments in hardware, bath, lighting, textiles and furniture. Job Responsibilities:The Merchandise Planner is responsible for managing the profitability of their departments through pre-season plan development, management of inventory investments, and Open to Buy management. He/she will also plan and control inventory levels to achieve customer service levels, sales plans, order fulfillment, inventory, profit, and turnover objectives. A successful candidate is a solutions oriented problem solver who is able to build and maintain strong business relationships with cross functional team members. Responsibilities Include: Pre-Season Inventory Planning Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risk and opportunities by department, subclass, class, collection, and sku. Create and present pre-season plans, sales, margin, inventory plans Update planning systems with vendor lead times and safety stock requirements. Assign category sales curves Provide Seasonal and Event Recaps and Ad Hoc analysis Collaborate with Merchandising to support product strategies and vision In-Season Inventory Planning Demand forecasting at the classification and sku level. Calculate order needs based on inventories and rate of sale. Analyze weekly/monthly business as part of the Business Unit to understand trends, issues, and opportunities to drive necessary actions. Review orders weekly and modify as necessary, based on trends. Maintain planned departmental inventory levels, inventory turnover, in-stock, and fulfillment targets. Develop exit strategies for non-productive inventory to maximize GMROI. Identify and address exceptions to forecast/plans on a weekly basis, re-forecasting all key metrics. Create and present forecasts and action plans for monthly OTB meetings. Merchandise planner experience ideally would include: Four-year college degree in business or another related area Additional professional certification(s) and/or expanding job experience Solid grasp of retail math and inventory planning concepts A command of MS Office Suite with advanced skills in Excel Ideally, will have at least 2 years of experience with well-respected, high-volume specialty retailer or direct-to-consumer business For quick consideration Click here to apply
