Partial Position Description:
Regional Learning & Development Manager for Southern California and Southwest Regions of our Client’s Retail Operations organization. Position reports to the Director, Learning & Development for Retail Operations and is based in Southern CA for Southwest region, and based in NYC area for Mid-Atlantic Region.
Responsible for supporting current business strategies by increasing District Manager and other Multi-Unit Manager talent and knowledge base while building the foundational skills, processes, and approaches needed to support on-going organizational capacity within Retail Operations.In conjunction with HR Leaders, Retail Ops Leaders, and the Director of Learning Delivery, partner with Retail Operations clients to effectively assess learning needs.Support Retail Ops Leadership in developing training plans with focus on chain-wide and regional strategies.In a support role, provide as-needed train the trainer sessions, with appropriate coaching follow up, as new concepts, store openings and technologies roll out. In partnership with DRO’s, conduct calls with all DM’s in regions of responsibility to check store training progress, identify needs, discuss results etc. Use existing reports (such as Conversion, SFS, Customer Satisfaction, Mystery Shop scores) to identify training needs.Coach District Managers and other multi-unit managers, focusing on the development of highest potential and at-risk performers. Decide with DRO which markets to travel as necessary to coach, train, and develop District Managers.Support orientation and on-boarding process for all new District Managers, Assistant District Managers and District Managers-Unassigned positions. Ensure the building and enhancing of relationships throughout the organization to gain a strong business strategy understanding, while updating key partners on project status.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s preferable) in one or more of the following: Business, Communication, Retail Business, Organizational Behavior, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Communication, Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction or related field preferable.3+ yrs delivering and facilitating workshops and training to diverse groups in multi-site settings.5+ yrs at the multi-unit management level.HR Generalist or Training Background a plus.Certification in external training programs such as DDI, Covey or other programs.Demonstrated ability to facilitate short and long-term workshops offering high levels of impact and learning transfer.In depth knowledge and understanding of adult learning methodologies, instructional design processes/ principles, and principles of leadership and team development. Knowledgeable about general business and management strategies and processes, resource allocation, and management skills.Solid grasp of current business regulations, industry trends, practices, new developments, and applicable laws governing human resources, employment, and retail practices.Demonstrate superior, efficient and effective communication skills (including the use of appropriate terminology), both orally and in written work across all experience and education levels respectfully.Retail background, clothing industry preferred.
