Regional Manager, Retail (Gifts and Accessories)

My client is a National Retailer and is conducting a search for a Regional Manager.  This person will be responsible for a multi district region covering the Western portion of the country in the Pacific and Mountain Time Zones. This retailer specializes in personal care products as well as gifts and accessories for the family. The stores are in major regional shopping centers and outlet malls.

The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 7-10 years experience in a multi-store environment, including managing people at the District Manager level. Travel in a region such as this will be 75%-80% overnight.

RESPONSIBILITIES:Recruits, trains and coaches District ManagersReviews monthly Profit and Loss Statements to monitor vs budget and develop strategies for improvement.Develops strategies for regional sales growth.Participates in the Real Estate process evaluating current store viability and needs as well as the ongoing evaluation of potential new store locations.Visits stores within the region to assist in determining needs, and developing growth strategies.Follows and communicates all company policies and motivates and inspires associates to achieve their highest performance.

REQUIREMENTS:Minimum of five years experience as a Regional Manager with responsibility for 50+ specialty retail locations.Minimum of three years experience supervising District Manager level associates.Excellent communication skills along with strong sales and customer service focus.Strong verifiable track record of results in recruiting, coaching and team building.Willingness to travel 75-80% overnight.Relocation may be required as position will be headquartered in Southern California.
