Regional Home Delivery Manager

Location:  Woodridge, IL

 

 

Essential Purpose of Position: 

 

This position will be responsible for managing the daily customer home deliveries of our in house delivery program and managing our third party carriers.

 

Job Related Responsibilities:

 

In-House Delivery Program

1.  Act as Liaison with Distribution Center on Daily Customer Deliveries & IST’s.  (including store Fly bys)

2.  Supervise Driver & Helper check in Daily. (Attendance & Appearance)

3.  Review Driver/Checker/DC Loader performance on Daily/Weekly/Monthly basis and communicate necessary changes.  (Delivery Window, Accuracy, Paperwork, Equipment documentation & etc.)

4.  Ensure The RoomPlace Drivers have proper paperwork, tools, parts, supplies to complete deliveries.

5.  Ensure The RoomPlace Drivers complete Vehicle Inspections and report damage accordingly.

6.  Ensure Equipment is properly maintained and PM’s completed as required.

7.  Maintain vehicle records. (Licensing & Insurance)

8.  Maintain Driver Records. (Background Checks)

9.  Review Safety Topics with Drivers on regular basis.

10.  Communicate in an effective manner with customers and Distribution Center.

11.  Conduct Random Delivery Checks on Delivery Trucks while at customer’s home.

12.  Complete Driver Ride-alongs on a regular basis.

13.  Review Return Rate and Completion Percentage Accuracy

14.  Review and approve invoices. 

15.  Work with Customer Service to identify product with repetitive issues.

16.  Assist Customer Service in resolving in-home damages and take responsibility for managing the resolution in an economical manner.

17.  Communicate daily with DC Shipping Supervisor the quality of the previous days loads.

18.  Identify opportunities to drive additional sales or improve delivery performance in the remote market.

19.  Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

 

 

3PL (Third Party Logistics) Management

1.  Assist third party carriers during daily morning load-outs

2.  Conduct driver and vehicle audits of third party delivery companies

3.  Work with owners of 3PL’s to improve completion, return, and customer survey results.

4.  Help drive consistency and implement best practices with all delivery companies.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

1. 5+ years of related experience

2. 3-5 years of Management experience desired

3. Computer proficiency highly desirable.

4. Must have proven leadership skills.

5. Must have good communication and organization skills.

6. Must be analytical and willing to learn.

7. Knowledge of local geography and map reading skills helpful.

8. Experience in the furniture industry helpful.

9.  Must be detail oriented with customer service skills

10.  Class C license a plus.
