Project Manager (Interactive/Ecommerce)
The Program Management department is responsible for defining and managing all corporate projects. Past projects include website functionally (including order path, search / browse, content management), contracts terms and conditions, workflow definition, strategic planning. We see a Project Manager with strong Responsibilities include: Drive the direction and work of the business analyst team. Manage vendor and 3rd parties with project responsibilities. Identify, track, and resolve issues, risks, and scope / requirement changes to the project. Define and execute the escalation process for all project issues and decisions. Communicate status to project stakeholders, team members, and senior management. Conduct project status meetings and document follow-up including decisions, issues, and actions. Lead scope and requirements gathering workshops by interviewing business owners, technical leads, creative leads and other project stakeholders. Lead identification of current business processes and change management plan for new implementation. Identify and document business opportunity, financial and non-quantitative justifications, organizational impact, scope, deliverables, milestones, risks, resource sizing, etc. Identify project team members including project leads, resources, and stakeholders. Create project plans with detailed tasks, assigned resources, duration and effort required at task level, projected versus actual comparison. Drive the project work utilizing the documented plans. Lead scope and requirement prioritization and signoff / lockdown for defined releases. Communicate project functionality summaries to senior management for support and direction. Identify and understand cross-department/ cross-functional dependencies and risks. Identify efficiency opportunities or constraints across project resources and tasks. Create and manage detailed project budgets. Lead planning and execution of user acceptance testing process. Track and drive resolution of defects during construction and transition phases.Requirements:Prior experience in mature professional services organization (e.g. IBM, Razorfish, Accenture, etc.). Successful execution of at least 2 complete project life cycles including planning, analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment. 4+ years work experience in project management / business analysis roles. 3+ years website experience and 1+ years e-commerce experience. Relative 4 year bachelor degree (e.g. Engineering, Computer Science, Economics, Business). Work well independently and in team, organized, detailed oriented as well as high level thinker, good written and oral communication, analytical, and excellent at decision making and issue resolution. Experience with website functionality (e.g. search, browse, product data, checkout, gift certificates, wish list, web self service, etc.) Experience with technology relative to websites (e.g. HTML, XML, ASP, web servers, content distribution systems, application services, databases, SQL, security, etc.) Strongly proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project.Apply via , or send your resume to jobs@barnesandnoble.com with the job code PMPMO6 in the Subject of your email.
