Project Manager – True Value Conversion

 

Wilco is seeking a contract PROJECT MANAGER to lead and manage the conversion of our hardware merchandise in five farm stores.  This is a full time contract position through January 2010.

 

The scope of the project and responsibilities of the project manager are as follows:

 

· Develop the project plan to convert five existing Wilco stores from Ace to True Value.

· Create, update and distribute project documentation with deliverables and timelines.

· Coordinate transition setup and ordering.

· Work with Store Development Director to coordinate remodels and assure all fixture needs are met.

· Work with Category Managers to place orders and merchandise resets.

· Manage the closeout process of product being removed during the transition.

· Manage vendor assistance, reset labor and budgets.

· Ensure a smooth transition.

· Coordinate and deliver File Maintenance conversion in cooperation with Category Managers.

· Liaison between vendors and Wilco staff.

· Ability to transition to a File Maintenance or related role on the Merchandising Team upon project completion.

 

The qualified candidate will possess the following skills:

 

· Understanding of Retail Shelf Merchandising, Farm Store preferred.

· Knowledge of automated ordering and placing purchase orders, Activant system preferred.

· Knowledge of ACE & True Value product lines.

· Ability to interact effectively with vendors and multi level co-workers.

· Ability to multi task.

· Ability to develop tactics and manage execution to insure deadlines are met.

 

The qualified candidate will have the following experience/education:

 

· High School education required, four year degree preferred

· 3 - 4 years Retail Shelf Merchandising

· 3 - 5 years of Retail experience

· Prior multi-phased project management experience

· Strong MS Office skills, in both Word and Excel

· Working to advanced Activant system knowledge preferred.

· Prior Store Layout development experience

· 2+ recent years of File Maintenance experience

 

Some travel by car required.

 

The project is expected to be completed by January, 2010.
