Principal Programmer Analyst - Unix/J2EE
JOB SUMMARY: Participate as a member of a technical development team supporting Core Merchandising business applications. Responsible for leading efforts associated with the design, development, testing, implementation and support of applications. Act as a technical lead on projects. Represent the technical expert while working closely with business partners to evaluate requests and determine feasibility / effort to support requests. Work closely with off-shore partners to coordinate, lead, and implement solutions according to established requirements and technical standards. Provide expertise and technical leadership for projects within visual merchandising, pricing, promotion, inventory, and sales audit functional areas. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Strong knowledge of development standards is required. Demonstrated proficiency in software design, development and support across multiple platforms is necessary. 5-7 years of development experience with skills in UNIX, shell script an JavaScript. Working knowledge of J2EE, WebSphere, SQL and service-oriented architecture is required. Knowledge/experience of database technologies (DB2, Oracle) is preferred. Working knowledge or i-Series technologies preferred. Self-starter who works autonomously to perform as a lead in evaluating and recommending technical solutions. Strong communication skill demonstrated with the ability to effectively communicate with Business and IS partners at all levels. Significant experience with Project Life Cycle methodologies Work experience with retail systems preferred but not required.
