Business Week, March 2008Primary Purpose: Analytically support Corporate Merchandising through all phases of product life cycle (pre season, product development, and in season trend analysis). Partner with Merchandising, Business Units, and Finance to insure sales, gross margin, and key investment goals are achieved. The successful individual will leverage their proficiency in Human Resources to... Develop seasonal department plans in line with Corporate Merchandising strategy prior to Line Presentation. Complete Volume Assumptions for new introductions and replenishment styles for the Production teams to assist in the product development and costing process. Complete Hindsight Analysis to highlight opportunities for future development. Partner with Corporate Merchandising and Product Development Teams to evaluate volume assumptions by Dept/Class/Subclass. Build Annual Operating Plan (AOP) guidance in line with seasonal plans. Analyze Business Unit investments and forecasts for all new product introductions. Analyze weekly business trends utilizing standard reporting tools and communicate risks and opportunities to Corporate Merchandising and Business Units. Evaluate sales, gross margin, and investment performance for multiple departments by Business Units. Identify risks and opportunities related to sales and gross margin during monthly forecast review process. Recap growth opportunities as well as diminishing trends by department while utilizing attribute codes and key planning metrics. Recap and summarize key highlights of current business to Senior Management. Foster effective teamwork and communication with Corporate Merchandising and Business Units.
