Payroll Coordinator

is responsible for accurately and timely processing, recording, reporting and reconciling of all weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls, while assisting Payroll Manager with other related functionsHigh School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and three (3) years of progressively responsible payroll/accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.  1. Balancing and controlling earnings and deduction totals.2. Inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reports.3. Determining and correcting out of balance conditions.4. Gathering payroll data for inclusion in financial statements.5. Researching and preparing special reports for management.6. Train new hires and less experienced payroll specialist.7. Process monthly/confidential payroll.8. Assist or substitute for management on a limited basis.9. Assist management with performance reviews of Payroll Specialists.10. Set payroll calendars, load spreadsheet for Payroll Specialist.11. Provide assistance and training for Payroll Specialist.12. Coordinate and process off-cycle payrolls.13. Balance and control data entry through out the payroll process.14. Calculate and verify special pay request and corrections.15. Review and validate W-2 research performed by the Payroll specialist.16. Verify taxable earnings and issue related Form W-2C when required.17. Request stop payments and reissue checks as required18. Request ACH reversals and reissue checks as required.19. Provide management with payment history and other data as required.20. Understand the gross-up process.21. Responsible for escalated payroll correspondence from both internal and external customers.22. Review input of garnishments and court ordered deductions and garnishment correspondence when required.23. Identify and resolve complex processing issues, working with technical support when necessary.24. Maintain a positive and professional attitude 1. Able to understand and follow English instructions.2. Strong PC skills including working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Office products. 3. Substantial knowledge and demonstrated application of accounting theories and principles.4. Strong PC skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.5 High level of competence in importing and validating data from People Soft HRIS system. High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and three (3) years of progressively responsible payroll/accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
