PROJECT MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY: This role will be primarily responsible for identifying future Supply Chain & DC Improvements, implementation of future year process improvement "inside the four walls" of distribution centers and driving improvement from projects. (Achieving Project DCF Savings or expected project benefits / objectives). 1) Project Planning Organizing & Developing project approach strategies. Defining & Communicating detailed project plans Identifying possible pitfalls / risks/ issues. Developing plans/processes to eliminate or reduce potential pitfalls/risk. Developing contingencies plans & work around strategies. 2) Leading a Project team Facilitating Requirements & Design sessions · Keeping team focused on deliverables and objectives · Removing obstacles for the team to achieve the objectives Leading the development of KPI's, Monitoring, evaluating and communicating performance results & opportunities. 3) Monitoring & Controlling Establishing key milestones, monitoring, adjusting resources, direction when necessary. Taking the lead to work with Regional IE's and DC Management on DC action plans and performance results. Keeping senior management well informed of issues, action plans, results, managing expectations through regular status updates. Providing specific recommendations to senior management on how to solve key business issues. 4) Trouble Shooting & Problem Solving Driving team to resolve issues in a timely fashion Developing process flows / decision tree to identify & document solutions Testing concepts and theories to validate possible solutions Effectively soliciting resources and subject matter experts when necessary. Commitment to inclusion Developing the business case- Rationalizing options, documenting, and communicating options / recommendations. Escalating issues / actions that impact project timelines, expected results, expected expenses to senior management. Critical Skills: Specific technical training (i.e., CPA, Engineer, etc.) Industrial Engineering or Distribution Operations Management Experience with Red Prairie's DLX Labor management System Warehouse Management Systems Experience Microsoft Office (strong excel and power point skills) MS Project Project Management Experience Education and Experience: · Bachelor's Degree required in engineering, operations analysis, logistics, supply chain or related field. · Minimum 6+ years of experience as an Project manager, industrial engineer, operations management or consultant, preferably with large retailers. · Strong distribution background. · Proven skills in management of projects and cross functional teams · Strong analytical and problem solving skills; ability to break a problem or opportunity down into sub-components; identify root causes and drivers; use creative thinking skills in developing alternative solutions. · Strong communication skills; develop and articulate (written and verbal) data/process analysis, and alternative solutions. Ability to lead others to a consensus and influence change. · Capable of collecting, assimilating and validating relevant business/operating information. · Comfortable working in a team environment, displays a customer-focused approach, seeks continuous improvement in serving internal and external customers. · Project management experience a plus
