ORGANIC COSMETICS BEAUTY ADVISOR JOB DESCRIPTION


Overview:  As an Organic Cosmetics Beauty Advisor, you will be a part of Macy’s commitment to celebrate beauty and well being in the most natural way possible. The candidate must possess a positive attitude and a commitment to an organic lifestyle and environmental sustainability. With extensive selling and product training, you will practice superior selling techniques through advanced product knowledge and outstanding customer service. You will personally assist customers in makeup and skin care selections and educate them about the benefits of natural and organic beauty products, while ensuring quick and efficient register transactions. In addition, you will work to present merchandise that is signed clearly and accurately while maintaining a neat, clean and organized shopping environment. This position leads to various roles with greater responsibility within or outside of the Cosmetics/Fragrance Division.

 
Day or Evening Part-time positions are available in Paramus, NJ; Herald Square, NYC; Boston, MA; Roosevelt Fields, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Novi, MI; Pentagon City, Washington D.C.; and Old Orchard, IL.

Key Accountabilities:
• Attend vendor training seminars periodically and maintain the highest level of product knowledge
• Build and maintain strong vendor partnerships in order to support the business
• Awareness of organic and natural product standards and benefits, and communicating these to the customer
• Maintain up-to-date client information in order to drive sales
• Conduct product consultations and makeovers for customers
• Maintain customer service and selling as the priority
• Demonstrate knowledge of store products and services and use this knowledge to build sales
• Practice suggestive selling, offering every customer related items in order to drive multiple unit sales
• Understand and properly execute all systems and procedures to ensure a quick and efficient transaction
• Handle returns graciously, always saying yes and involving a manager when judgments need to be made
• Comprehend and maintain department standards
• Follow special department operating procedures
• Share equally in the operational responsibilities of the department as customer traffic allows
• Achieve the company standard for sales productivity and credit solicitation
• Adhere to weekly work schedules and be flexible to the needs of business
• Maintain merchandise presentation standards of department and ensure merchandise is replenished on the selling floor

Skills Summary:

• Previous selling experience and knowledge of organic/natural beauty a plus
• Ability to build relationships, solve problems and influence others
• Possesses drive and is goal-oriented
• Demonstrates an energetic and positive attitude
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities and learn new procedures

Macy's relies heavily on our Organic Cosmetics Shop Managers to educate our customers about the benefits of natural and organic beauty products through advanced product knowledge and outstanding customer service. With extensive selling and product training, you will personally assist customers in makeup and skin care selections. In addition, you will be responsible in ensuring quick and efficient register transactions, friendly and professional interactions with all customers, and clear as well as accurate presentation of merchandise. This position leads to various roles with greater responsibility within or outside of the Cosmetics/Fragrance Division.
