OPERATIONS AND VISUAL MERCHANDISING MANAGER: Manages, oversees and executes to all operational and visual merchandising programs and initiatives.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Drives and sustains sales, operational integrity and profitability within store by setting expectations, holding staff accountable, and monitoring and measuring progress to achieve positive results.Performs Sales Manager on Duty responsibilities, ensuring customers are greeted and acknowledged; offers customers assistance as needed. Diffuses high-tension situations comfortably and in the best interest of the Company.Meets or exceeds P&L objectives including sales, margin, inventory shrinkage, payroll, and other controllable expenses, such as supplies and operating costs within assigned areas.Actively promotes and exhibits expertise in selling techniques and manages selling mentor initiatives and programs.Provides leadership, direction and advice to staff to promote efficient delivery of sales, services and operational programs. Supervises daily work flow for all staff in designated areas by planning and assigning daily goals, tasks and assignments.Establishes and communicates company initiatives, goals and objectives, sets clear expectations, holds employees accountable to meet expectations and measures and monitors progress and results.Recruits, interviews, selects, trains, guides, leads and evaluates staff to support and grow sales/profits. Conducts new employee orientations; completes new hire paperwork and submits to Human Resources per required timelines.Collaborates with other managers to create and monitor employee work schedules in automated time and attendance system to ensure appropriate coverage for customers, utilizing shopper tracking data and hours and payroll dollars allocated to various departments. Ensures the daily cash in store is balanced, deposited, and secure. Reviews documentation of purchases, returns, exchanges at registers, including employee in-store discount programs; assures the accurate completion of all POS transactions and required documentation, and the proper control of all cash and media at the POS registers are according to Company policies and procedures.Manages the daily operation of receiving area; ensures merchandise is received in a timely and accurate manner allowing sales floor to be adequately stocked. Oversees and signs-off on inter-store transfers and audits receiving area.Monitors pricing and verifies ad merchandise setup and signage are accurate in designated areas. Processes and replenishes merchandise on the sales floor by moving merchandise from receiving area, monitoring merchandise flow. Supervises tagging of merchandise and verifies accuracy.
Experience, Skills and Abilities:
3+ years experience in an operations and merchandising leadership role in retail.Customer service and sales oriented with high motivation.Excellent leadership capabilities to effectively lead, guide, develop and direct employees.Effective planning, organizational abilities and superior detail-orientation. Superior problem-solving and conflict management skills.Must take initiative, be self-motivated and an independent, accountable, dependable performer.Ability to successfully perform in a fast growth, changing environment.Ability to work varies hours/days to oversee store operations.
