Master Data Specialist

 

Wawa’s Supply Chain Department is recruiting for the position of a Master Data Specialist.  This individual will be responsible for:

 

•  Creates and maintains all retail and corporate articles within SAP, DAI, McLane, CBORD, Span and Cost Component Databases. Designs and maintains the site database.

•  Maintains synchronization of all databases aforementioned and authorization of all articles in the McLane Quasar Database.

•  Configures and customizes Article and Site Master back end systems to allow for ongoing changes necessary to accommodate the strategic initiatives and Marketing pricing strategies.

•  Maintains all cost, cost conditions, retails, promotions and bonus buys to support Marketing’s pricing strategies. 

•  Provides a 98% level of database integrity to enable accurate pricing, reporting, and financial accountability.

•  Adds to and maintains the SAP merchandise hierarchy with the ability to reclassify articles for budgeting and reporting purposes.

•  Assists Finance, Retail Accounting, Inventory Management and warehouse management on reporting requests.

•  Works closely on new projects to facilitate the implementation through accurate set up and synchronization with the process design.

•  Works closely with Marketing on new product introductions to enable timely and optimal set up to meet the needs of the product introduction.

•  Enables seamless operation of the supply chain to avoid the ripple effect of product errors.

•  Works closely with field merchandisers to coordinate the creation of the new database for timely ordering and delivery of product.

•  Works closely with Real Estate to ensure timely site set up for the creation of purchase orders during development and construction for project accountability.

•  Maintains relationships with external and internal vendors and departments to ensure accurate article and pricing information. 

•  Works closely with Accounts Payable on invoice reconciliation, Inventory Management to identify and resolve site inventory issues and the Tax Department to resolve any tax anomalies that result in new market entry, changes to tax laws and new product introductions.

•  Maintains custom SAP tables for taxes and attributes.

•  Maintains all standard order templates of articles, groupings and site assignments, all order guides, spoilage logs, scan receiving sheets, and cycle count sheets.  Uploads and Maintains on the SAP Portal.

•  Conducts database audits up to 4X’s a year with internal and external auditors. 

•  Maintains a 24 X 7 On Call Schedule with a maximum response time of 24 hour with most calls resolved within 3 to 5 hours.

•  Documents and keeps current all related database policies, procedures and process flows.

 

What you’ll need to be successful:

•  Bachelor’s degree with background in Computer Science preferred

•  Strong knowledge of Wawa retail processes and article maintenance

•  1-3 years related experience in Store Operations

•  Detail-oriented, well organized, ability to work well independently and with a team

•  Ability to work well under pressure with strict time demands and deadlines

•  Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills

•  Strong analytical and problem solving skills

•  Strong competence in Microsoft Office suite, Advanced Excel, Word, Visio. SAP experience a plus

•  Ability to work 24 X 7
