Manager, Third Party Receivables
The primary purpose of this position is to manage third party receivable activities to ensure the timely and accurate collection of outstanding receivables in accordance with contractual terms. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in a safe manner consistent with corporate policies and state and federal laws. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned: 1. Measure, monitor, and improve cash collections and accounts receivable aging related to all third party payors. 2. Coordinate non-collection activities with third party business units to ensure timely and accurate claim submission and the corresponding payment applications; interact with other Finance departments to address denied claims. 3. Monitor all forms of payment application, validate existing controls are in place for accurate and timely remittance. 4. Research new receivable issues and document the findings; create an action plan to prevent future occurrences. 5. Provide the Senior Director and Director with weekly status reports to update them on new, continuing, and completed projects. 6. Create and distribute weekly tracking reports to Senior Management that include the metrics for collection and application efforts. 7. Monitor new agencies to ensure initial system setup is correct, payment terms are honored, and all expectations are met with regard to accounts receivable issues. 8. Review and report on secondary accounts receivable claims, including the collection, application, and coordination of benefit issues. 9. Monitor, test, and validate the internal control structure to ensure that it is maintained and reported on in accordance with corporate policies regarding Sarbanes Oxley S.404. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position directly supervises Accounts Receivable Coordinators and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Accounting, or Business, plus three (3) to five (5) years' experience in healthcare or retail accounts receivable collection; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
