We encourage our employees to succeed professionally and maximize their potential by becoming part of our dynamic team.The Corporate Interactive Marketing Department, located in Pleasanton, California, has an opening for a Manager, Marketing Planning.The primary purpose of the position is to lead/manage teams to develop, implement, and optimize online advertising campaigns and programs in order to influence consumer behavior, engage customers, drive retention and sales, while creating a consistent brand and positive user experience. This position will manage two resources. This position will have responsibility to help refine offer strategy for commerce and the promotional calendar for corporate programs. This position will also have responsibility to manage the operations for eCommerce including building the offers on Safeway.com. Working in collaboration with Corporate Marketing and other internal stakeholders, the Manager, Marketing Planning will help drive the interactive marketing strategy and return-site usage for additional engagement and value-added shopping experiences. Position is a blend of online marketing and advertising expertise, people management, program data analysis, and creative problem solving.Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree preferred.• 5-7 years Marketing, Business or Computer Science, Management Information Systems experience with 3-5 years online/interactive marketing experience.• Ability to manage people, lead with purpose and direction, and set challenging and motivating performance expectations. • Excellent planning, analytical, conceptual and organizational skills. • Strong communication, negotiation, & leadership skills. Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence and build trust with internal and external stakeholders, maintain key relationships.• Demonstrated success in creating and executing online marketing strategies in a team environment.• Solid understanding of online marketing practices and strategies, marketing tools, technology, user practices and industry direction. • Strong computer skills with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and email management using Outlook. Interwoven Media Bin/Teamsite software experience a plus. Basic understanding of HTML, XHTML, DHTML, XLS, Photoshop, Illustrator, helpful but not required.• Ability to prioritize and manage changing requirements and short timelines, as well as multiple overlapping projects simultaneously. • Strong presentation skills with ability to work at all levels of the organization. • Self-motivated, with a well-developed ability to grasp assignments and oversee/manage/delegate projects from inception to completion. Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Work with Director, Campaign Management to establish weekly, monthly, and annual revenue and expense plans, including targets for new customer acquisition, YOY/Period growth, etc.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to successfully plan, coordinate, launch, and measure online marketing initiatives, increase sales and differentiate Safeway from competitors. Help develop online engagement strategies and tactics to increase sales.• Manage planning, development, integration of company-wide advertising programs, strategic promotions and events to drive sales in-store and online. Delegate assignments to ensure communication of seamless cross-channel shopping experience. Implement and drive consumer-centric communication execution and tactics for online media vehicles – Content and e-Commerce.• Recommend strategy, messaging and tactics based on brand objectives, define metrics, analyze program results, derive customer insights and make key recommendations.• Manage/oversee/delegate projects involving multiple internal and external stakeholders (Divisions, Perishables, Non-Perishables, Consumer Brands, Operations, Human Resources, etc.) including creating schedules, sitemaps, functional specifications, and measurement plans. • Prioritize & manage the activities of commerce and content Interactive Marketing Managers, focused on building new business, increasing sales, engaging customers, supporting growth initiatives. • Manage third-party creative relationships, drive creative messaging, look and feel in order to maintain consistent brand, design and content quality standards. • Review key site performance metrics, scorecarding and communicate weekly online program results to the rest of the Interactive Marketing team. • Delegate assignments with follow-up.
