MANAGER OF DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT

The Training Associates has a requirement for a Manager of Instructional Design and Development in their midwest HQ location.

Location:  Client Headquarters in Midwest
Relocation: Potential.  Location already near client HQ’s preferable
Position Type:  Direct Hire/Full Time
Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Up to 100k (Lower or higher commensurate with experience)

Partial Position Description:

Manager of Learning Development works in conjunction with the Director of Learning & Development for Retail Operations to create learning and performance support solutions for the Operations Department of our distinctive and well-known Client. Will be collaborating with the other Manager of Learning Development for Retail Operations to design and develop Operations curricula.
• Oversee design and development of various learning and performance support solutions covering all aspects of Retail Operations Customer Engagement and Multi-Unit Management curriculum including Group Leader on-boarding and Group Leader Seminar.
• Create and implement our Client’s Customer Engagement/Service curriculum for various company promotions throughout the year.  Key task will be to develop ALL Company Brand and Product Training.
• Partner with organizational leaders and HR Generalists to identify the most important training-related needs.
• Develop and maintain Retail Operations Leadership, Service and Product solutions.
• Lead development of alternative training approaches if expected performance improvements are not seen as well as manage project vendors, contract resources, and budgets, as required.
• Lead the establishment of departmental deliverable standards for all learning and performance support solution types including reference materials, instructor-led learning solutions, manuals, guides and course materials
• Ensure team projects provide high quality cost effective learning opportunities that address clients’ needs and are completed in a timely manner.

 Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s a plus) in one or more of the following: Instructional Design, Education, Computer Science, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Organizational Communication.
• 10 +- years in Leadership position within Retail Operations sector.
• District Management role working on projects and initiatives relating to position description.
• Proven skills in business writing and project management.
• High level experience and expertise in Retail Operations.
• Ability to multi-task and work independently in pressured environment meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects.
• Highly proficient in MS Office applications and working knowledge of MS Project and Visio.
• Ability to work with and engage participants of diverse background and learning experience/levels, facilitating goal-oriented group discussion.
