Lead Product Designer /Illustrator - Stationery, Party & Craft

Responsibilities include:

ü  Works under direction of Creative Director to concept and execute product designs for printed flat art and dimensional products.

ü  Aspires to advance in career – awesome creative thinker – inspires others with fabulous ideas

ü  Leads illustration/product development team members on assigned projects.  Takes an active role in leading conceptualization sessions with team members.

ü  Lead formal and informal critiques to provide effective, relevant feedback

ü  Creates illustrations, print-ready art, and product specifications for manufacturing.

ü  Evaluates product designed based on factors such as visual appeal, design-function relationship, materials and methods engineering, application, budget, price production costs, methods of production, market characteristics, and client specifications.

ü  Drives design and product trend direction by researching marketplace prepares and presents updates to team on current and emerging trends on a regularly scheduled basis.

ü  Reads publications, attends brainstorms sessions, attends trade shows and consults with product management to establish design concepts.

ü  Builds product comps, models, and presentation boards as requested

ü  Manages and maintains product art archives

ü  Manages project priorities as set by product management to meet deadlines

ü  Domestic / International travel may be required

ü  Give and take direction effectively.

 

Qualifications:

ü  5-7 years product design experience

ü  Experience managing multiple projects

ü  BFA, BA, or BS in Graphic Design or other art-related field

ü  Excellent verbal and written communication skills

ü  Excellent visual communication skills

ü  Excellent illustration skills

ü  Excellent problem solving skills

ü  Candidate should expect to work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
