We currently operate more than 450 supermarkets in 7 U.S. states and the District of Columbia under the A&P, Pathmark, Waldbaum?s, The Food Emporium, A&P Super Foodmart, Super Fresh and Food Basics trade namesWhy Us?At A&P, we are committed to a being an industry leader, setting trends, and creating an exciting environment to work and shop.Our large number of retail stores as well as our corporate offices offer you a variety of opportunities to join our diverse team, acquire new skills and showcase your talent.POSITION SUMMARY: Oversee effective and efficient administration of and compliance with collective bargaining agreements within stores in a specified geographic area for the purpose of promoting operational flexibility, cost containment, and positive employee relationsRequirements: KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Establish and grow positive relationships with field representatives of local labor unions representing store employees; Manage implementation of newly negotiated contracts to ensure achievement of maximum benefits from new and existing terms Develop and engage in regular collective bargaining agreement training for store management and field operations Prepare and implement regular store Labor Audits to measure effectiveness of execution of contract provisions; Support field operations and Human Resources through contract interpretation and act as a resource to mediate and resolve store conflicts with labor unions; Promote timely, accurate, efficient grievance processing and investigation, including resolving union grievances, where possible, and engaging unions in contractually-required grievance meetings; Regularly track and report all grievances and arbitrations and provide the necessary Company and/or legal resources with complete investigation summaries, documents, data, etc., to support successful prosecution of arbitrations; Support the Company by preparing for and participating in collective bargaining negotiations, providing input on contract proposals and insight on operational needs; Develop and maintain positive working relationships within the Company?s field Human Resources team and Operations organization and become a known and trusted resource on all aspects of labor relations within region. SPECIAL SKILLS, TRAINING, OR EXPERIENCE: Advanced PC skills (Microsoft Office to include Access, Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint) Retail supermarket experience a plus Strong verbal and written communication skills Previous labor relations experience or field human resources experience in a union environment is essentialEligible associates will receive an attractive package including competitive pay, store discounts, insurance coverage, 401(k), retirement plan, training and development along with other perks and benefits.
