Integration Application Administrator

IS&S JOB OPENING RE: Middleware/Integration Application AdministratorGROUP:  Systems Architecture and Engineering

 

Essential Job Functions:

· Management and Implementation of complex middleware and integration solutions within the Kroger Integration Services team. 

· Advise on and resolve chronic issues.

· Tier 3 support of complex application issues - where development is not needed.

· Perform testing and support as required with external and internal customers.

· Work with other application support team members to troubleshoot issues and ensure operational readiness as it relates to integration with upstream and downstream systems.

· Manage/coordinate resolution of complex production support issues through completion.

· Collaborate with Integration Architecture on recommendations and changes in system standards and processes.

· Actively participate in recommendations, planning and implementation of additional EAI/ESB solutions and capabilities.

· Evaluate impact of OS and vender specific patches to the deployed environment.

· Define and implement monitoring requirements to identify issues before they are reported by end-users. 

· Maintain application support documentation.

· Mentor team members and provide guidance, as needed for shared on-call duties.

· Act as on-call after hours support on a rotating basis addressing critical and high-priority issues opened for other business critical applications.

· Ability to make effective decisions with positive results.

· Other IT Support related tasks as deemed appropriate by management.

 

Job Requirements:Strong customer service skills.

· BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

· Motivated Self-Learner.Must have 3 or more years experience with web technologies including, HTTP/S, XML, web-services standards, service-oriented architecture.

· 3 or more years experience with Enterprise application integration approaches and enabling technologies.

· Basic Understanding of Java.

· Proven analytical and problem solving skills sufficient to assess complex problems, recommend and implement effective solutions.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Must have capability of working in a team environment to accomplish tasks both individually and through working with others.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

 

Related/Desired Skills:Programming experience with Java, J2EEExperience with Enterprise Messaging (JMS, MQSeries)Related B2B/Integration product experience.

· Basic Understanding of Database Technologies (Oracle, DB2, MS-SQL)Experience with business interchange protocols (AS2, ebXML, EDI)

· 2+ years experience with B2B /EDI background

· Web/Web Service Hosting related experience.

· Experience with open-source solutions and support (Apache, Tomcat, etc.)
