PetSmart is an Equal Opportunity EmployerWith many positions offering relocation packages, learn more about Life in PhoenixJob Responsibilities: SENIOR INFORMATION SYSTEMS INTERNAL AUDITOR SUMMARY The Senior Information Systems Internal Auditor will be responsible for planning, performing, reporting and following-up on designated information systems audits and special project reviews in accordance with the Annual Audit Plan. In addition, the Senior Information Systems Internal Auditor will: (1) supervise the Information Systems Internal Audit staff in the performance of selected technology audits and related assignments as determined by the Director, Corporate Internal Audit, (2) prepare and maintain working papers related to audit projects in accordance with Department standards, (3) participate in new and upgraded information systems initiatives from an internal controls and information security/data integrity perspective, (4) participate in post-implementation reviews of new, major information systems as assigned, as assigned, and (5) perform special projects as directed by Internal Audit Department Management. KEY COMPETENCIES Key competencies include, but are not limited to, the following: • Solid knowledge of internal audit practices and principles • Proficient knowledge of information systems practices and procedures • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities • Strong interpersonal, communication (i.e., oral and written) and presentation skills SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervise the Information Systems Internal Auditor staff in the performance of designated audits and related assignments as determined by the Director, Corporate Internal Audit. Additionally, assist the Director, Corporate Internal Audit in the preparation of individual staff performance reviews for those audit assignments where the Senior Information Systems Internal Auditor had direct in-charge responsibility. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Performing information systems audits as outlined in the Annual Audit Plan • Supervising the Information Systems Internal Audit staff on specific audit engagements, as applicable • Preparing corporate audit programs, workpapers, audit reports, etc. • Communicating audit findings and opportunities for improvement to management • Assisting the independent registered public accounting firm, as applicable • Performing special projects of varying complexity and business focus as directed by Internal Audit Department Management • Participating in physical inventory observations at selected store and distribution center locations • Updating and monitoring Internal Audit Department historical files with audit results, as necessary • Acting as a department liaison to various PetSmart business functions and committees as determined by Internal Audit Department Management • Performing any other tasks as requested by Internal Audit Department Management Qualifications: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Information Systems or a Bachelor of Science Degree Business Administration with a major in Computer Information Systems is required, MBA desirable. A minimum of three years of progressive internal audit and/or public accounting experience is required. Fortune 500 Company experience as well as experience with some of the following software and technology is essential: SAP, Oracle UNIX, Distributed Server Processing, Windows, PeopleSoft and ADP.
