Human Resources Supervisor

Kansas Sampler, a regional chain of sportswear and gift stores, is seeking a high energy level candidate to assume the duties of the human resources function at our company.  Candidate will be responsible for advertising and recruiting for new positions, screening applicants with phone interviews, scheduling interviews with appropriate company personnel, performing background and reference checks on potential hires, and be responsible for complying with personnel and payroll policies on new hires.

This position is responsible for payroll for a company of over 100 employees, including maintaining consistent wage scales, performance appraisals, compliance with company vacation, holiday and sick pay and timely filing of payroll taxes and all payroll forms.   Responsibilities also include administration of company benefits packages, including health and dental insurance and company Simple IRA plan.  This position will interface with all state and federal agencies relating to personnel and wages, including timely filing of responses for unemployment compensation with the Kansas Department of Labor.

Applicants must be familiar with maintaining payroll systems, preferably Quickbooks payroll.  Must be experienced in payroll taxation and benefits.

Company benefits include two weeks vacation after one year, health and dental plans, and participation in company Simple IRA plan.  Holiday and sick pay are provided as well.

Applicants must have a minimum of a two year degree (Associates in business or human resources) and experience in hiring, payroll and benefits administration.
