HR ABAP Programmer

Overview:  





Provides technical development and support for the SAP HR system. Develops and maintains existing and new interfaces, ESS support, dialog transactions, reports and enhancements to the HR system.  Works with business and IT teams to ensure business information requirements and system development goals are achieved.
 


Responsibilities:

§ Analyzes, designs, develops, maintains, tests and documents HR ABAP programs.

§ Provides off hour support and problem resolution to processing and programming issues. 

§ Ensures smooth integration and/or rollout of systems into the operational environment by coordinating closely with the affected functional and technical teams.

§ Analyzes/defines business requirements and proposes business solutions.

§ Maintains proficiency in technology and tools to enhance productivity and quality of system development.

§ Communicates regularly with manager and team lead: the status of active projects, open issues, and decisions that need to be made.

§ Plans and organizes development work and deliverables.

§ Follows change management process as a product of system implementations.

 

Technical Skills:

§ 5+ years experience with ABAP programming in SAP HR modules, especially Payroll, Benefits, Time Management, Benefits, Org. Management.

§ Functional knowledge in SAP HR modules a plus.

§ Working knowledge of object oriented programming is required.

§ Experience in Enterprise Portal, Java and Web Dynpro a plus.

§ Working experience in SAP R3 and UNIX operation system a plus.

§ Proficiency and expertise in programming using ABAP objects in developing interactive reports, dialog transactions, enhancements and interfaces as required by business. 

§ Extensive knowledge and experience with SAP development tools and technologies such as ABAP Work Bench, User-exits,Interfaces, BDC, Call Transactions, IDOC, BAPI's, BADI's, Sapscript, Smartforms, CMOD/SMOD, Function Modules, RFC, ALE.

§ Strong knowledge of ABAP performance tuning skills, debug and SQL tracing tools.

 

Interpersonal and Communication Skills:

§ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under tight deadlines with limited supervision.

§ Ability to effectively communicate both oral and written to the IT team and business partners.

§ Establish and maintain good working relationships with the peers, management & leaders of the business area supported as well as within IT structure.

§ Assume accountability and take ownership for ALL projects that you are responsible and involved in.

 

Qualifications:

§ Bachelor’s degree mandatory (prefer Mathematics or Computer Science).

§ 5+ years of SAP HR ABAP programming experience, with full cycle implementation and upgrade experience.

§ Working knowledge of SAP Inbound/Outbound idoc interface architecture.

§ Ability to work with users to resolve issues and convert business requirements into technical solutions.

§ Understanding of the Operations of a large scale organization
