Individuals who are driven to earn our customers' trust and business every day, who act with integrity, who treat everyone fairly and value diversity, and who are accountable for their actions are welcome to show interest in becoming a member of our winning team.This position supports the logistics organization through a variety of projects focused on enhancing productivity, maximizing throughput and ensuring workplace safety.QualificationsResponsibilities· Development and maintenance of an accurate and effective Work Measurement System; Ensures effective productivity measurements are established for identified functions in the distribution center through time studies and frequency studies conducted in the distribution center· Evaluation and subsequent revision of all work methods and workflow for all functions to ensure they are ergonomically correct· Training of management and hourly workforce on productivity and work methods· Establish and maintain "Best Methods" for all job functions· Analysis, recommendation, and implementation of enhancements to existing work methods flows and processes to increase throughput· Develop and design distribution center and office area layouts· Collection of data to assist in the development of distribution center and capital budgets· Analysis and cost justification on all capital project requests· Design, selection and installation of material handling equipment incorporated into existing, new and expanded distribution centers· Research technological advances in material handling systems to develop cost-effective improvements to operating methods and procedures to support purchase recommendations· Work effectively with external resources (consultants and contractors) to ensure collaborative partnerships to meet business requirements.Requirements:· BSIE· Minimum of 3 years experience in projects related to process design, work measurement, productivity improvement, cost reduction and project implementation· Experience with work measurement methodologies and tools with an emphasis on time study expertise· Experience in best methods development· Experience with productivity tracking, data collection systems· Excellent planning, organization, and problem solving skills· Excellent PC skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint· Effective communication skills; demonstrated ability to interact across a broad range of organizational levels and functions· Excellent interpersonal skills· 50% TravelIdeal Candidates would also have experience in:· Management Observation Program· Accountability Program· Standard Data and Predetermined Time Systems· Distribution Center Operations in a National Logistics Network· Working with Individual Incentive programs· Areas of Statistical Analysis, Operations Research and Line Balancing· Distribution Center Material Handling Systems· Cost Analysis for Project Justification· AutoCAD and Database skillsBenefitsAs a Sears professional, your career path options will be determined by your performance as well as your desire to advance further within the Sears organization.
