Events and Training Specialist

Position Summary

Manage and ensure the flawless execution of all Chanel Fashion events, Trunk Shows and Training Clinics in Chanel Boutiques, Department Stores and elsewhere.

 

Primary Functions

· Create training material per season and tailor to specific store buy.

· Be responsible for the execution of trunk shows and training clinics, using appropriate tools to do so (Ex. “Trunk Show Calendar�).

· Ability to facilitate and execute events and shows to a very high standard using acute attention to necessary details with the goal of perfection in mind

· Giving in-store presentations and performances in keeping with the high standards, sophisticated/distinct brand image and heritage of Chanel.

· Run training conclaves and clinics where necessary, ensuring Sales Associates are adequately trained to understand each season’s collection and features.

 

Operational Functions

· Perform at some of the major Events and Trunk Shows – either with manager, fellow executives or alone. Understand how to create a theatrical presentation in order to generate excitement.

· Measure and report results, using appropriate formats to regularly communicate financial results to management.  Be comfortable analyzing numbers and presenting them with commentary.

· Abide by the manual of Corporate Guidelines for the execution of Chanel Events, defining a vision of what standard is required.

· Contribute to maintenance of samples, ensuring they are accounted for and maintained efficiently and in good repair. 

· Oversee receipt and re-shipments of samples in NY showroom for all wholesale clients including RTW, Accessories, and Shoes.  Help coordinate tracking of advertising samples and public relations loan schedule.

· Take direction from the Events and Training Manager to understand what training is required each season and what materials are available – using these elements to run the required Training Clinics

· Be part of the sample clearance team at sample/ hotel sales.

· Assist in creation of trunk show calendar

 

Skills and Knowledge: Experience of hosting events – such as designer trunk shows or P.R. events.Natural aptitude for managing logistical detail.Ability to multi-task and problem solve effectively. Experience working with luxury brandsRequires a sophisticated personal style and taste level in keeping with the Chanel brand image.  Very good public speaker/ presenter.Ability to communicate and interact effectively with various audiences. Influencing skills and Must be able to adapt approach to various audiences. Experience in managing a budget.Strong sense of professional maturity

 

Minimum Education:  High School diploma required, some college or Bachelor’s degree in business preferred. 

 

Minimum Years of Experience:  5 years of experience in a training or P.R. role or equivalent work experience

 

Special Requirements of the Position: Excellent planning and organizational skills – must be exceptional at logistics planning, and proactive follow-through.  Acute attention to detail.  Natural and engaging style to deliver programs and host events.Must be prepared to arrange and travel domestically at a minimum of 80% of the timeWill need to problem-solve at a logistical level with creative talent – executing exceptional events and making sure that many logistical details happen like clockwork.  EXCELLENT follow-through skills are critical.  Problem-solving skills are essential with regard to organizing and being creative to prevent audiences from seeing various types of logistical issues.
