Events and Training Manager
Position Summary
Plan, manage and ensure the flawless execution of all Chanel Fashion events, Trunk Shows and Training Clinics in Chanel Boutiques, Department Stores and elsewhere.
Primary Functions
· Be responsible for the logistical planning of all Fashion events, trunk shows and training clinics, creating and using appropriate tools to do so (Ex. “Trunk Show Calendar”).
· Negotiate with each Store Group’s buyers to maximize the promotional calendar.
· Have an innate talent for pulling off events and shows to a very high standard, be naturally obsessive about every detail and want to obtain perfection in execution.
· Hire and manage outside resource where necessary.
· Manage, develop and motivate the Events & Training Executives, ensuring that they give in-store presentations and performances to the high-standard expected of Chanel.
· Develop, manage and run training conclaves and clinics where necessary, ensuring Sales Associates are adequately trained in each season’s collection.
Operational Functions
· Perform at some of the major Events and Trunk Shows (either with the Executives or alone) setting the standard for dynamic Chanel shows. Understand how to create theater and generate excitement.
· Measure and report results, creating and using appropriate formats to regularly communicate financial results to senior management. Be comfortable analyzing numbers and presenting them with commentary.
· Create and update a manual of Corporate Guidelines for the management and running of Chanel Events, defining a vision of what standard is required.
· Oversee the maintenance of samples, ensuring they are sourced, accounted for and maintained efficiently and in good repair.
· Oversee the sample process for market, trunk show and advertising samples. Receipt and re-shipments for all wholesale clients. NY showroom for RTW/Accessories and Shoes, working closely with Account Services on tracking and getting them cleared with customs in a timely manner. Maintain the showroom sample closets and coordinate tracking or advertising samples and public relations loan schedule.
· Take direction from the Sales teams (RTW, Accessories, Shoes) to understand what training is required each season and what materials are available – using these elements, plan, design and run the required Training Clinics.
· Manage the department budget – for samples, Trunk Shows, Events and Training. Negotiate reimbursement of all costs from Retail partners wherever possible.
· Be part of the sample clearance team at sample/ hotel sales.
