District Manager - ME, VT, NH, MA, E. NY

National Vendor Services (NVS) provides Merchandising and Reset services to the home improvement industry. Our nationwide group of dedicated employee’s provides services which also include product knowledge training, inventory control, audits and other services. NVS is a Mooresville, NC based company.  The Parent Company and corporate headquarters, National Product Services, is located in the Dallas, TX area.

We are currently seeking to hire a District Manager for the Northeast market.  Territory includes all areas in and between Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and East New York.  This position will be responsible for managing activities within the district and ensuring objectives are met in relation to; profitability, customer satisfaction, productivity, personnel management, and quality.  The District Manager will also be responsible for revenue growth and expense management.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: Builds and maintains relationships with customers at the local and district level in order to ensure ongoing, high quality level of service.Maintains continuous visibility with store leadership where service is being performed.Directs and monitors all operational activities of the District to ensure objectives are met.Implements and oversees large projects during peak periods to assure high service and quality levels are maintained.Partners with Human Resources to recruit, hire, train, motivate, evaluate, and counsel employees, in order to build a strong District.Monitors spending within assigned District, and works within budgetary guidelines.Conducts regularly scheduled performance review sessions with all direct reports.Monitors and maintains acceptable turnover levels.Assures that all employees receive the necessary training to do their job in a safe, effective manner.Reviews and monitors staffing levels regularly; updates Regional Manager on staffing needs within assigned district.Communicates, implements, and ensures compliance of all company policies, programs, and standards.Partners with Human Resources to manage and resolve employee relations issues according to company standards.Manages time effectively through keeping priorities in order; maintain general organizational skills through personal planning.Demonstrates proven analytical, problem-solving, and decision making skills, in order to handle critical situations.Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

 Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, or related field.5 - 7 years retail/retail services experience managing multi-store operations.2 – 3 years supervisory experience.Strong business acumen; solid understanding of P & L statements as well as general operations management.Ability to travel 50 - 60% of the time.Proficient in MS Office applications.Successful track record of strategy development and execution.

 

The ideal candidate will live in the Hartford, Providence, Boston or Manchester area.
