 Job Description

 

Dynamic person needed to supplement the Information Architecture team.  This team is responsible for setting and driving the information strategy to the organization through thought leadership.  The selected individual will assist in developing and updating the data strategy and assist applications projects with their data strategy to ensure it aligns with the corporate strategy.  This person must be a proven leader in the data field. 

 Essential Job Functions:

· Interact with application teams, business units, and senior management to understand strategic vision.

· Understand and maintain a pulse on current industry trends in information strategy.

· Work with other architects to develop or update documented corporate information strategy.

· Maintain a roadmap for information strategy and be advocate for adoption of initiatives.

· Initiate and manage information strategy projects.

· Work with project teams to develop and/or update their data architecture in accordance with corporate information strategy.  This includes determining database platform, data sourcing, data integration method and conceptual data models. 

· Research and recommend tools for database management.

 Job Requirements  

· Three to five years experience in data management.

· Two plus years experience leading information management initiatives.

· Experience developing an information strategy.

· Familiarity with various database platforms such as IBM DB2 & UDB, Oracle, SQL Server, and Informix.

· In depth knowledge in data architecture concepts, including partitioning, grid computing, high availability and disaster recovery strategies.

· Knowledge of Data Modeling concepts and experience with modeling tools.

· In depth knowledge of the following concepts:  Master Data Management, Business Intelligence, Services Oriented Architecture, Enterprise Content Management, data integration, and data warehousing.

· Ability to understand high-level data requirements from an enterprise perspective.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as negotiation, team-building, and leadership skills. 

· Ability to communicate effectively with people of varying technical levels.

· Must be able to handle multiple projects and assignments concurrently while maintaining high levels of quality and effectiveness.

· Must be a self-starter and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
