DISTRIBUTION CENTER SUPERVISOR

Position Description:

Reports to: Operations ManagerPOSITION PURPOSE: Distribution Center Supervisors are responsible for the daily operation of their respective area of the warehouse, and the direction of the hourly workforce to achieve and exceed distribution center performance goals of production, employee relations, safety, service, quality and cost. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise and coordinate the daily activities necessary to achieve the highest possible levels in areas such as: productivity, shipping/receiving, inventory management and quality assurance procedures. Verify paperwork for accuracy and supervise activities in the correction and prevention of inventory/quality discrepancies. Ensure efficient flow of product and monitor daily productivity numbers. Supervise up to 40 warehouse associates, which includes providing feedback, promoting teamwork, motivating associates to achieve higher performance levels and providing associates with the tools they need to get the job done.Labor Management: Direct the operations of the specific department work team to achieve the prescribed objectives. In consultation with the Human Resources Department, develop and maintain a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training and professional development. Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in supervising, counseling and disciplining subordinates. Through manpower and succession planning, develop and identify potential employees to be coached and developed into Lead and Supervisors of the future. Ensure PacSun policies are followed for proper administration of wage increases, benefit hours, leave of absences, grievances and related Employee Relations issues.15% Communications: Participate in warehouse meetings. Interact with Operations, Transportation, Store Operations, Human Resources and associates. Act as a liaison between associates and management. Develop and support a positive attitude toward PacSun. In addition to the performance of the job responsibilities, mentioned above, this position may be required to perform supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based on the particular requirements of the operation.

Qualifications:

Supervisory experience should include 1-3 years in a warehouse environment, preferably retail related. Specific experience should include areas of: shipping/receiving, inventory control, quality assurance, PkMS and/or Warehouse Management System and materials handling equipment, with general warehousing terminology/practices.
