Job ID: 14324Position Description:Grainger is currently seeking a DC Supervisor (Machine Picking) for their Chicago, IL distribution center. We are seeking distribution center professionals to join our Chicago DC team. The successful candidate will have 2-5 years experience coordinating the process flow in a high volume, multi-shift distribution center and a Bachelor’s degree in logistics, material management, business or a related field. You will have the ability to utilize your interpersonal skills to successfully interact with all levels of management. You will use your strong analytical and warehouse management system skills to coordinate the process flow in a large distribution center. You will utilize your leadership skills to create and promote an environment where employees are involved, empowered and committed to the success of the company. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your education and warehouse and distribution center experience with a Fortune 500 Company!Major Responsibilities: • Utilize and manipulate warehouse management systems to maximize efficiency and productivity of work flow and allocate resources in various picking zones to ensure timely completion and flow of picking process• Have an in depth understanding of the assigned DC processes and functions.• Ability to review opportunities for continuous improvement of warehouse and customer service processes and develop and implement changes to enhance workflow optimization.• Provide direction to the DC tem about required resources needed to respond to workload variances.• Analyze and report on Outbound sub processes, specifically hours paid and lines picked.• Provide direction and assistance to warehouse employees by clarifying questions pertaining to job assignments and resolving issues.• Assist in training, developing and managing a small group of employees in non-exempt positions.
