Control Buyer

Position Summary:

As a Control Buyer, you will develop sales plans and buying strategies for a ladies apparel assortment chosen by our Merchandising Team.  Utilizing historical information, system reports and anticipated and current trends, you will develop item plans through to the SKU level.  You will be accountable for ensuring all inventory, both from our Domestic suppliers and our Global Sourcing division, is delivered on time.  Your responsibilities will include analyzing results of the Catalog and Internet channels versus plan and revise forecasts and inventory needs based on these results. You will also negotiate costs and delivery to best meet customer and business goals.  This is an excited and highly motivated team, focused on great service to our customers.

 Duties & Responsibilities: Create SKU Level Plans for each catalog mailing using historical data, current trends.Initiate all inventory purchases, both initial orders and reorders.Negotiate and ensure the timely receipts of all inventory.Negotiate costs and transportation on reorders.Analyze product performance through full cycle of an item and make recommendations on its disposition thru liquidation.Track and expedite all open purchase orders.Review and analyze reports to determine optimum inventory quantities and receipt timing.Meet and exceed goals for minimizing backorders, cancels, lost sales, and merchandise liabilities.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  Bachelor’s Degree and 3 years experience.Strong analytical and negotiating skills.Results driven approach, with strong creative thinking and problem solving skills.Demonstrated the ability to plan and forecast sales and inventory needs.The ability to handle multiple tasks and adapt to the changing needs of the business.Excellent computer skills, including Word and Excel.
