CREATIVE DIRECTOR / RETAIL

Our client, a major general merchandise retailer located in the Greater New York Area, has an immediate opportunity for a VP / Creative Director.  The incumbent will have the responsibility for developing the creative vision of the retail brand.  Retail experience in hard goods will be highly favored; however, top-notch soft goods experience will also be considered.   This position is a senior level management role and reports to the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO).    The Creative Director will have accountability for: All print advertising (direct mail, catalogs, advertising, promotions and collateral pieces). In-store marketing (signage, decor).  Electronic branding (web design and online marketing development). Photography/Brand Guidelines, to include direction and guidelines for all photography and graphic treatments for brands.  Training, leading, motivating a creative team.  Cross-functional leadership with all functional areas of this expanding retail chain. Requirements: Minimum of 15 years of design work experience, including interactive design.  Recognized expertise in developing strategic creative solutions for major retailers. Strong people management talent to provide clear and innovative direction, motivation and inspiration to creative teams. Significant interactive brand-building experience, including concept development, website design, identity design, and on-line marketing development. Understanding of user-centered design and development processes, with an emphasis on extending brands across a broad range of customer segments. A portfolio of creative work that demonstrates conceptual thinking.
