Benefits Manager

Benefits Manager Irving, Texas   Job Summary Responsible for managing, designing, and implementing all aspects of employee benefit plans in order to maintain cost effective and competitive plans in the marketplace. Oversee the benefits department to ensure proper servicing of benefit plans.   Responsibilities § Negotiate contracts and vendor relationships for all benefit plans; conduct proposal reviews and recommend vendors for ongoing administration § Communicate benefit information to all employees, including production of Summary Plan Documents (SPDs), benefit plan documents, open enrollment materials, memos, etc. § Evaluate effectiveness of existing benefit plans/programs to ensure competitive nature within the marketplace and review new technologies and/or outsourcing opportunities § Track utilization and experience data for various benefit plans and report findings § Ensure compliance of all benefit plans with federal and state regulations and adhere to legal requirements § Analyze the financial costs and effectiveness of the plans § Conduct employee meetings to educate employees on new and existing benefit plan offerings §  Coordinate with payroll to ensure proper deductions are maintained §  Directly supervise staff of 5 benefit analysts.     Qualifications Required:  Minimum 10 years of Benefits experience, including substantial knowledge of health & welfare and retirement plan administration and design. 2 years supervisory experience also required. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or other related area.  Must possess strong HR systems knowledge with experience implementing HRIS for benefits.  Oracle knowledge preferred: HRMS and Advanced Benefits (OAB); Oracle Payroll and Self-Service a plus. Will accept other HRIS systems such as Lawson, Ceridian, People Soft, and/or SAP. Working knowledge of regulatory requirements (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, Sec. 125, etc.) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to thrive in a fast paced, high volume environment with busy workload.
