They form the foundation of our SUPERVALU Advantage - the key to our continuing success. We are seeking a Benefits Administrator to join our team. Principal Accountabilities for this position are as follows: Coordinate special projects and assist Managers, Directors and Executive Leaders in the completion of special projects in areas such as eligibility, leaves of absence, health and welfare plans, responses to attorneys, courts, and regulators. Construct procedure manuals for complex processes within the benefits areas, as well as edit the language in Summary Plan Descriptions (SPD’s)/plan documents and other employee communications. Respond to questions from HR, LR and Shared Services regarding coverage under company programs. Ensure data is properly captured, transmitted to and processed by outside third party administrators. Interface with same to ensure plan administration occurs properly.  Ensure that periodic wire and data transfers occur timely and are balanced appropriately.  Establish and maintain productive working relationships with other company departments and outside vendors. Work with HRIS departments and Shared Services on system testing for new benefit plans and changes to current benefit plans. Supervise the maintenance of benefit records and documents necessary in establishing and maintaining an employee's eligibility to participate in the employee benefits plans. Independently handle moderately complex issues that can be resolved by referring to plan documents and/or working with outside parties REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent experience. CEBS coursework preferred. 3 or more years benefits experience. Good understanding of the federal regulations associated with benefits programs Experience, technical ability and overall understanding of the benefit programs and their administration. Previous experience in benefits administration with strong understanding of federal statutes and laws governing lawful administration has been gained.   Prior work experience working with Company’s benefits programs desirable. Ability to work with, and through, others to achieve desired results. Proven ability to provide efficient coordination and clear communication to all benefit eligible associates, human resources, personnel, and labor relations in an efficient and timely manner. Good written and verbal communication skills. Technical writing experience preferred. Ability to make effective presentations to groups of employees.  Demonstrated ability to deal with company personnel at all levels and possesses a mature attitude in dealing with confidential material.  Knowledge of company’s general systems, policies, and business practices.
