Assistant Store Manager- Reno, Nevada Simmons Bedding Company, maker of the world famous Beautyrest mattress, is actively recruiting for an Assistant Store Manager for our Reno, NV location.  The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for assisting the Store Manager in running a successful operation of a World of Sleep Mattress Retail Outlet Store. The Assistant Store Manager is accountable for maintaining an acceptable level of gross sales and profit and maintaining an exceptional level of customer service in Store Managers absence during days off, vacation, attending meetings, and community outreach.  This position works as a partner in the above areas when scheduled with Store Manager. DUTIES:   Function independently within the operational, sales and profit goals established by the Division Manager and Simmons Corporate to successfully manage a World of Sleep Mattress Retail Outlet Store Communicate with Store Manager, Division Manager and Corporate office Maintain and increase store sales Achieve store’s IPC and DPC goals Achieve Outreach goals as provided by Division Manager Responsible for merchandising, inventory control, advertising, and customer service acting within company directives, policies and procedures Adhere to an operational budget and to the payroll budget Assist in staff development including panel interviewing, establishing an open door policy, motivation, and store safety Handle all sales transactions and inventory control functions as related to the POS system Administer and adhere to Corporate personnel policies and procedures for the store staff, which includes familiarity with all company policies and the ability to interpret and explain them to store staff Safe guard store assets through various loss prevention and control measures including: daily deposits, audit functions, petty cash and expenditure control and shortage prevention Coordinate housekeeping and general maintenance Attend Assistant Store Manager’s or Region meeting REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS: Excellent people and sales skills Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently Excellent oral and written communication skills Good problem solving skills Ability to manage business with little supervision Some travel and overtime required Ability to lift 50 lbs Ability to stand for long periods of time EDUCATION: High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience Some College preferred 1 year Supervisory/Mgmt experience preferred PAY & BENEFTIS: Simmons associates enjoy competitive wages and advancement opportunities.  Our full-time associates are invited to take advantage of a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid training, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401(k), short-term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, and an employee discount on products. ABOUT SIMMONS:Atlanta-based Simmons Bedding Company is one of the world's largest mattress manufacturers, manufacturing and marketing a broad range of products including Beautyrest®, BackCare®, BackCare Kids®, Olympic® Queen, Deep Sleep® and HealthSmartä.  The Company operates 17 conventional bedding manufacturing facilities and three juvenile bedding manufacturing facilities across the United States and Puerto Rico.
