Assistant Buyer

 

Jacobson Floral Supply, Inc., a 65-year-old family owned business is one of the largest in the United States.  We have a long-standing tradition of excellence in quality and variety for all the products offered in our Boston, MA and Cromwell, CT locations -- we are currently seeking an Assistant Buyer.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

Ø  Generate, review, and analyze sales and inventory reports;

Ø  Perform product cost and movement analysis;

Ø  Generate and execute purchase orders;

Ø  Analyze sales and inventory information on a weekly basis;

Ø  Coordinate inventory cycle counts;

Ø  Set up new items and product descriptions in operating system.

 

 

 

As the Successful Candidate, you will have the following experience:

 

Ø  2-3 years experience in a purchasing environment;

Ø  Solid analytical skills and ability to work with large data samples;

Ø  Technical skills --  MS Office (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access) and experience with standard business software (Accpac, Great Plains), a plus;

Ø  Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline;

Ø  Experience in the floral industry a plus, but not required;

Ø  Strong interpersonal skills;|

Ø  Excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Ø  Ability to effectively manage time and prioritize multiple responsibilities.
