The Assistant Business Manager will assist the Business Manager in maintaining the total department store counter operations and staff. The Assistant Business Manager will generate and drive sales, deliver and ensure outstanding client service, maximize profits by controlling expenses, assist in training all counter personnel, and protect company assets. ASSISTANT BUSINESS MANAGER: SHORT HILLSPrimary Responsibilities Assist the Business Manager with managing the team on the sales floor to achieve sales productivity goals and maintain counter operations Ensure superior level of client service is given at all times Coach, train, motivate and lead by example using a high degree of professionalism and good judgment Manage time, establish priorities with Business Manager and delegate effectively to meet goals and objectives Develop positive relationship with team by understanding and addressing individual motivation, needs and concerns Perform opening and closing procedures (i.e., opening cash counts, closing deposits, shift management, etc.) in accordance with Bare Escentuals and department store policies Assist in the planning, preparation and execution of cost effective events to generate additional sales Utilize and maintain client database for phone calls, product launches, events and appointments Work with the Business Manager to control all expenses within budget guidelines Follow and implement all corporate visual standards and guidelines Assist Business Manager in the recruiting of high caliber staff Ensure inventory levels are accurate and appropriate at all times Participate in physical inventory preparation and completion as required by Bare Escentuals and the department store Supervise the maintenance of stock replenishments to the floor Maintain consistent, uncompromising high standards for cleanliness, presentation, and marketing Adhere to and enforce all operational policies and procedures Assist the Business Manager in ensuring Bare Escentuals employees adhere to all department store policies and procedures Build and sustain a positive work environment Perform other duties as required. Job Qualifications Minimum 3 years retail experience, previous sales experience required, cosmetic sales experience a plus 1- 2 years supervisory experience in a service-oriented environment High School diploma or equivalent required, prefer college education Ability to function in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills Professional attitude and ability to be flexible and handle change in a positive manner Present a professional appearance and maintain Bare Escentuals grooming standards and Dress Code Able to work nights and weekends Able to work overtime when necessary Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 50 lbs.
