INDIANAPOLIS, IN Asset Protection Agent Job Overview:  Asset Protection Agents are responsible for protecting all of Steve and Barry’s assets (including the associates) through awareness, communication, deterrence, prevention, and apprehension. Therefore, responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following: • Report on daily activities (verbal and written) • Reduce External Exposures and Losses o Apprehension of shoplifters and and recovery of Company assets, as set forth in Company apprehension guidelines. o Playing a case on the floor (Limited Closed Circuit TV assets). o Audit compliance of external loss prevention standards. o Identify external exposures and recommend solutions. • Report all observed or suspected exposures pertaining to internal theft. • Ensure proper training and awareness. o Participate in the promotion of shrinkage awareness of all associates. o Create an environment of “ownership” among all associates. • Oversee operations and safety procedures. o Complete reports and assigned duties in a timely manner. o Assist management to maintain operational and safety compliance. o Report all violations of operational standards to store management and immediate supervisor. Job Requirements: • High school graduate or equivalent. • Retail loss prevention or law enforcement experience preferred but not required.. • State certification required, where applicable. • Must be able to stand and walk sales floor for shifts of 8 hours or more. • Must be able to regularly lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs. • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and rotating shifts. • Must be able to follow directions and be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
